Later, there would be a parting of the ways. Discord, anger, bitterness, charges of false doctrine, and even lawsuits.
But on February 19, 1974, these five men stood united, faithfully at their posts, refusing to bend for their long-time colleagues and friends. Some among those who left were outright heretics. Others, misguided by their charisma, academic prowess, or simply the overwhelming numbers, enabled them.
But five men stood steadfast.
Today is a day to remember and honor the sacrifice and faithfulness of the five.
